A couple of weeks ago my quilt guild headed to a local sewing and quilting expo. It turned out to be not quite as impressive as I hoped, but we still got to see some beautiful quilts, check out some awesome vendors, buy some cool things, and of course, hang out together.
Some of the pretty quilts:

My favorite demo/booth was one where they were showing how to use crayons to color fabric.

It was an advertisement for the book shown, but the technique fascinated me enough that I bought an applique pressing sheet to use. I left the book, figuring I could always pick it up later.
In addition to the pressing sheet, I also picked up a point turner (I've always hated poking out corners in pillows and things) and the pieces for a snappy coin purse.

I had been hoping for more fabric, but aside from a gorgeous batik vendor, most of the booths had the same few selections and for MSRP or higher.
All told, it was a fun day and I'm glad I made the trip. : )
