Gratitude

So, yesterday's big news that needed pictures? That would be this!

Tripod of Awesomeness!

That, my friends, is absolutely one of the best birthday presents EVER. It is a tripod. But not just any tripod--a tripod that can "look down" and take pictures. Do you know how wonderful this is? It's amazing, fantastic, and super awesome all rolled into one. The reason this is so squee worthy is that I take lots and lots and lots of pics of my cards looking down at them. And because I have relatively unsteady hands and my camera's reaction time seems to be getting slower and slower as it gets older, I often take 10-20 versions of each shot. Multiply that by 5 listing pics per card and, yea, I can end up with 100 pictures just for one card.

With this beautiful invention, I can cut that down to 4-5 shots per view (to account for lighting and angle and such). I am beyond words with how excited I am! Hopefully, this will significantly cut down on the time I have to spend photographing cards AND result in better quality photos more consistently. Which means more time to create and more incentive to take pics and get things in the shop. : )

*hugs tripod*

So, when my husband was playing with the cats on the floor, I just had to test it out. I present to you, one of the very first pics with the new tripod!

Why Hello There!

*swoon*

So, based on the above, today's Gratitude card goes out to my wonderful parents, who support my little buisness, my wonderful husband, who lets me subject him to my latest obsessions, and my super cute kittens, who allowed themselves to be wrangled into position for (lots of) pictures.

  1. What a thoughtful and totally useful gift! Yeah! I like the card you made for the occasion too. Your kitties look very soft and cute in the pic (oh, and your hub looks nice too :-)--so it looks like the tripod is doing it's job. BTW--Happy Birthday!

  2. Thanks Karen! : ) I can't wait to use the tripod more. It makes me feel like a "real" photographer. *laughs*
