I Spy Polaroids Progress

I Spy Polaroids Progress

At the end of last month, I stumbled across our local Modern Quilt Guild. I attended a meeting earlier this month and found the group to be warm and welcoming. One of the best parts though? Every 3 weeks, they have a "Sewing Saturday" when everyone comes together to stitch and chat for 8 hours. Today was the first since I've joined the group, so I gathered my supplies and headed over.

I spent the day working on I Spy Polaroids. I had gotten as far as fussy cutting squares from my fabrics last weekend and when I laid them all out, something immediately jumped out at me.

Do you see it? I had exactly zero, zip, zilch purple fabrics. I jumped online to order more and discovered...purple fabrics are very decidedly NOT in right now. (Not that that stopped me from picking up some pinks, neutrals, and the few purples I could find...) A couple of my new guild mates came to my rescue, offering me pieces of purples that they had in their stashes (plus a few non purples that just worked).

As of this morning, my I Spy Polaroid fabric collection looked like this:

Since I still needed to prewash, iron, and fussy cut my new fabrics, I started framing up the ones I already had cut. You can see the results below. 31 Polaroids, waiting for some friends. I am so excited to see how this is starting to come together! ^_^

  1. I still <3 this idea! It's coming together great. At my LFS we also have a Sewing Saturday once a month from 10A-8P. A lot of the ladies are in a quilt guild, but not everyone is - we have a ton of fun and they are very welcoming and helpful. Glad you're enjoying it!
