Wonky Rainbow Squares

WRS

Quilting is a funny hobby of mine. It's held my attention the longest (first catching my eye at 12 or so) but it is also the hobby that gets the least of my time.

But if there is one thing that can be counted on, it's that I do, eventually, always, make forward progress.

And so it is with my Wonky Rainbow Squares quilt. 2.5 years now. But, after this weekend, three colorways complete. And the fourth started. I'm hoping to continue making forward progress this week and weekend.

As I layer, I try not to put colors together which have been paired before. It's not 100% possible, but the exercise forces me to pair things well outside of my comfort zone, some of which I think are downright "yucky". But by the time the final blocks come together? Those individual pairings have been woven into a final whole and I'd be hardpressed to find any I truly dislike. It's educational for sure.
