A Handmade Holiday

Handmade Holiday Craft Catalog

This year Ana White of AnaWhite.com is challenging her readers to make one handmade gift this holiday season. I'm in (and well, I was already planning on doing so) and I encourage you to join in as well. Often I know I get BIG ideas like "I will handmake all my presents this year!" and then when I don't (because I'm ill or my mother really wants a techy gadget or my brother needs quality cookware) I feel like I failed. In reality, making anything is a win! And so this year, I am handmaking some of my gifts, for those who will most appreciate and enjoy them. Items that won't kill me either.

If you want to join in, but need ideas, check out Ann's Handmade Holiday Craft Catalog where she has invited bloggers to submit their crafty tutorials for holiday gifts and decor. And if that leaves you still wanting more ideas, try checking out Totally Tutorials, a supply of endlessly creative crafty projects and recipes.

What am I making this year? Well, each of the grandmas is getting a handmade scrapbook.

They are clever little things that fold up on themselves. It took me about 2 hours to make each book starting with some chipboard, scrapbook paper, ribbon, and glue. As soon as I can get the pictures printed out, I will fill them with pictures, quotes, and memories.

And several other people will find themselves the lucky owners of jars filled with homemade cranberry sauce and jams. Yum! : )
