In talking with my mom over the weekend, I began to ponder a color scheme for the Rec Room. I've been stumped because of the couch. When we picked out fabric to recover it, this was our favorite of all the choices. But. I don't generally like purple and gold/yellow together. And it has a clear pattern so you can't just throw more patterns in to bring in more colors. And augh. But then I had a thought! Dark green walls (a couple shades darker than shown here). Goldy-creamy accent wall (a bit more subdued than shown here). Voila! Picks up the gold in the couch and avoids becoming the "purple room". There are a few other variations here and here.
What do you think? What would you pair with our swirly purple and gold couch?
