365--Halfway Through

365--Halfway Point

As I head into the second half of my 365 project, my computer-less window gave me a pause to stop and reflect on this project. There are some things, that after a two week break, I would be hard pressed to pick back up again, but I find myself still interested and engaged.

I wandered through the previous photos and rediscovered things like Day 150, I had already forgotten how recently I had learned that. I recalled how when embarking on this project I had the dream that every picture was going to be a photographic masterpiece (or at least, you know, have decent lighting and some thought to composition.) And I wondered if, when I hit day 365, I won't want to just start all over.

This project is a continuing exercise in being mindful of my surroundings. Of seizing opportunities as they present themselves. Of being prepared. And patient. Of the freedom of routine. And those are things that are worth holding onto everyday, not just 365 select ones.

  1. I'm too much of a wuss to commit myself to a 365 day challenge :) I'd have given up at about day 3...or maybe 5! I give you credit for hanging in there. I don't think all of them are meant to be masterpieces...and when all is said and done, you might feel differently about how they turned out.
