A Batch, A Bushel, A Posey

This thing-a-day challenge is working out very nicely so far. If you want to follow the blog posts that I am writing over there, you can use this direct link. I'm going to do my best to not just cut and paste between that blog and this one (it is a little tempting though...), so if you want to follow along with all of my adventures, that is the place.

For today's thing-a-day, I started work on sets of cards. I have been wanting to create sets for a while but I really hate creating sets from cards after the fact because I always feel like I am taking choices away from my buyers. Probably because I am always finding sets and going, "Well, I like that one, but not those two." or "Those two are great, but what is up with the third?". I have to remember that (a) not everyone is as picky as I am (see my previous post about my high maintenance-ness) and (b) sometimes creating sets for buyers helps them to see the possibilities.

So today, I took a different tack. I started planning the set from the moment I started selecting the elements for the card. This reinforced their "set-ness" in my head and now I would feel horribly about tearing them apart and selling them separately. *grin* It's all in the perspective.

Anyway, here are the cards thus far:

Cards in Progress

They still need leaves and labeling but you can see that there are 5 sets based on color and theme.

blues--birthdays
pinks--friendship
browns--thank you
oranges--love
purples--weddings/anniversaries

If I get them finished tomorrow and then get really ambitious and photograph them, then they could get into the shop as early as this week! : )

I do need to redo one of the purple cards because my stamp hopped and there are some random ink marks, but the rest turned out quite nicely. ^_^

  2. The cards are looking good so far! I'm going to see if I can find out what other 'thing-a-day' crafters are up to :) Maybe I'll give it a shot one day!

  3. Aw, thank you Bonny! ^_^

Dinnertime--I've always avoided these things. I still can't quite figure out WHAT made me sign up, but it's been really great so far. : )
